It’s still early in the new year, well, considering there’s still eleven months left. But somehow after only 30 days, there’s some things I am already over…
More days than a few, I have either woken up with, ended with, or even went a full day with a “not today” attitude and honestly I am perfectly fine with that. I love the fact that now I am more in tune with myself and what I will and will not put up with more than ever before. But what I love even more is the fact that there is a shirt that speaks for me simply, completely, yet flawlessly.
Now I have always been a no nonsense type of girl but somewhere in 2016, that attitude went from a casual 6 to maybe a 20 and I have no complaints. I honestly can’t tell you when it happened or why. Maybe it was the whole turning a quarter of a century milestone (which didn’t happen until October LOL) or maybe it was the addition and subtraction of different people in my life, but I can say that it was a change for the better. I feel in my spirit that I am headed in the right direction and even though I can’t give them the credit for my personal changes, I definitely have nobody but Gold Glamour to thank for my new favorite shirt.
Not only is the saying on it BEYOND accurate, but it also goes perfectly with my whole new “getting in touch with my casual side” philosophy. My first time (of a million more to come) wearing it was a cold rainy day that was the definition of requiring comfy, casual, warm clothes but of course, I had to put my own not-so-casual spin on it.
As you can see, these aren’t my usual heels but they also aren’t the normal sneaker. Not to mention, it’s probably the closest you’ll get me to the ground for a while. I snagged these Madden’s from DSW and had no idea when or how I would wear them but knew I had to have them. A week later, my favorite shirt came along. Add some distressed black denim to keep with the solid look and voila! The coat was a last minute addition for the PERFECT splash of color and not to mention I had been dying to wear it for about a year now but the timing couldn’t be better. I still can’t even believe I paid like $6 for it thrifting.
With all that, a throwback choker, and my new braids that I’m still all into, I am ready to continue poppin’…minus the drama of course. I would say my “not today” will change but I don’t think so. No day do I want to deal with BS or negativity and some days, I may just not feel like doing what’s asked but that’s all just fine. I finally realize I control my reality and everyday will be what I make it. Maybe I’ll lighten up one day but not today. In the meantime though, grab your own from Gold Glamour and follow them on Instagram @ShopGoldGlamour. Also, make sure you follow me @TheChloeBrand for more pics and updates. Until next time guys!
