#CHLOECOVERAGE | TOPSHOP/TOPMAN WINTER PREVIEW @ THE W [11.05.15]

For me one of my favorite parts of the fall/winter season is by far the fashion shows.  Style in general is taken to a whole new level during the cooler months because there’s more layering and playing with textures and this alone can really test your skills.  For TopShop however, it was effortless and they passed the test with flying colors….

For me one of my favorite parts of the fall/winter season is by far the fashion shows.  Style in general is taken to a whole new level during the cooler months because there’s more layering and playing with textures and this alone can really test your skills.  For TopShop however, it was effortless and they passed the test with flying colors….

Like any other production, there was of course time to grab some shots on the red carpet and have a cocktail or two but as soon as the lights dimmed, TopShop wasted no time getting straight to the point of why we were all there.  Hosted by Cynthia Bailey of Real Housewives of Atlanta, the show was off to a dramatic start showcasing various furs combined with looks that varied between both casual and evening wear.

They played with a lot of different textures as well as patterns to demonstrate the versatility of their pieces.  Whether it be for a night out on the town, a holiday cocktail party, or just a regular day at the mall, they literally had a little of everything.  As far as color, there were great uses of each of the top trending hues such as grays, navy, burgundy, winter white, olive, rust, and of course a variety of blacks.

As for the men, tailored is the “new” black.  Me, I prefer a man to wear the correct cuts of their clothing year round but right now is the perfect time.  ‘Tis the season to be tailored for sure.  With menswear, having your clothing fit correctly make it a lot easier to play around with the other elements of style such as mixing prints, textures, and accessories.  You can’t wear a sloppy suit then have 3 different prints on.  No matter how complimenting the colors may be, it can come off sloppy when done that way.  TopMan kept it classic and each look can be seen as a clean slate to add your own touch of style.  Gentlemen, take notes.

The brand stayed true to its contemporary style and added the perfect amount of “edgy chic”.  Combined, each look included the perfect individual items that can truly help your fall/winter wardrobe.  Of course I had my eye on a few things so stay tuned for what I decided on and how I will pair it with the rest of my wardrobe.

All in all, this show was definitely one for books.  from the time I got out of my car until I walked out the door, the entire experience was exceptional.  The W of Buckhead was the perfect venue and created a warm holiday ambiance.  The signature drink for the night was also perfection.  Being that I live in the Atlanta area, I never really have the need for a hotel but if I ever did, this would definitely be my top choice.
