After a few days to myself for my birthday it was back to work and back in front of the camera. First up was this year’s Ragtrade Atlanta Fashion Show held at the Georgia Freight Depot downtown Atlanta. I had heard so many great things about this production I knew that this year I just had to be there.
Before the show everyone got a chance to mix and mingle, grab a few cocktails, and of course do some shopping with a few vendors in the Style Lounge. During this time, I was also able to grab a few interviews with some fellow fashionistas. Interviews include wardrobe stylist, Elizabeth of Gold Glamour, fashion blogger Jenna Wessinger, and jewelry designer Stephanie Bijoux. I loved hearing their inspirations and seeing them really express their personal styles.
The show itself consisted of 7 designers with a finale including Edmond Newton of Project Runway. Even though each of these designers of course have their own looks, each line was cohesive and as a whole, really brought the show together. Sometimes when there are compiled shows with different designer, it can create a little too much variety. That definitely was not the case here. From ready-to-wear to high fashion, everything flowed beautifully and made everyone truly feel like Atlanta elite. Needless to say, you will see me in attendance next year, and many years to come.
Ragtrade is a year long platform and they are always looking to accept new vendors, hair and makeup artists, volunteers, and anyone else looking to be apart of the production. Not only do they have the annual show, but they also host other networking opportunities and events around the main event. For more information visit ragtradeatlanta.com.
